Seven promises.
Each one comes with the reason it holds.
Nobody can see who rated you
Every assessment is anonymous. No screen, message, export or data returns who rated whom, and that includes you, your manager and your administrator.
A skill score appears after several different people have rated it, so no single rating can be picked out. The counts and timing are handled so they cannot give a rater away either.
The network data is anonymous
Assessments are stored in a network that holds no names, email addresses or identities. Each person in it is hidden, computed for each organisation using a key that protects all members of the organisation.
Without the key the network is unreadable, and the key never leaves Score.
Written once, never changed
An assessment is never edited or deleted, by anyone, including us.
Each organisation’s assessments form a chain, with every entry sealed against the one before it and signed as it is written. A copy of the signed chain head goes to storage that cannot be overwritten. If one rating were changed anywhere, the chain would show it.
Nothing to game
There is no free text, no self-assessment and no manager override.
Every assessment is tied to a real moment of work and asked of one person who was there, about one skill, as one number.
Ratings that do not reflect the work are found
Ratings have patterns, and some of them reflect something other than the work, such as a favour returned or a group rating its own members up. These patterns are well known in the published research on how people rate each other.
Score has its own method for finding them, which we do not publish. The rating itself is never altered, and nothing changes until a pattern has been proven on real data.
Finding a pattern is not making it disappear. It flags something for review, and no method, ours included, can promise that none go unseen.
Your data to keep
Your record is personally managed by you. Work identities from employer workspaces link into it. When you move between companies, it goes with you, and you decide who sees it.
Guarded the way you would expect
Encrypted at rest and in transit. Mechanics to protect our platform for all customers.
The network database is only available from Score’s private network.
